Kicking Off the Build Log
Why this site exists and what I plan to document here.
This is the first entry in the build log — a running record of what I’m setting up in the homelab, what breaks, and what I learn fixing it.
What lives here
- Projects — longer write-ups on the bigger builds: the Unraid migration, the local AI server, networking, and house projects.
- Build log — shorter, chronological notes. Half changelog, half diary.
Why bother writing it down
Every time I fix something at 2am I promise myself I’ll remember how. I never do. Documenting as I go means the next outage is a lookup instead of a re-derivation — and if it helps someone else running the same gear, even better.
